In a futuristic city where everyone is 'renewed' (i.e killed) on their 30th birthday, Logan is a sandman, whose job is to stop 'runners' (people who are trying to avoid their fate) from escaping. On leaving the city while chasing a runner, Logan realises that life after 30 is possible, and so ends the senseless tyranny of the city. The film features a robot (Box) in the ice tunnels under the city. Originally designed to freeze animals for foodstuffs for the city, he now catches - and freezes - runners.

Grood escapes on his 'cosmojet' spaceship and orders his robot to set course for outer space, but the robot mistakenly sets course for 'infinity'.
