On a distant planet where water is scarce, the population is ruled by the evil Templars. Two space pirates who land on the planet are captured by a princess, who then enlists their aid in helping to save her father, who has disappeared after having found out information dangerous to the Templars. In their quest, the pirates - together with Percy the robot - encounter robots and androids which they do battle with.

Whiskey (a gangster) and Curly (a police scientist) try to track down the Hero gang, whose robot - Pioneer One - is terrorizing Hong Kong. When they become friends, Whiskey and Curly are suspected by their employers so they go on the run, hotly pursued by the gang's robot Pioneer Two, a double for the gang's 'moll' Maria. The robot gets damaged during the chase, but Curly rebuilds it to help him and his friends prove their innocence.

A toymaker creates a lifelike female automaton, which is mistaken for a missing girl by a woman who works as the toymaker's cook. The woman and her boyfriend, a policeman, break into the toymaker's workshop with the intention of taking the automaton (and claiming a reward) when they realise the truth and are thrown out by the toymaker.

A boy is transformed into a genius by his  scientist father's super computer, and rebuilds  and makes friends with Robby the robot. Robby is then taken over by the computer, which wants to take over the world. Eventually, Robby destroys the computer. Caterina is a female domestic robot, specially programmed for 'compliancy'. She falls in love with her master, becomes jealous of his girlfriend and takes her revenge on him.

Robots, working in apparently pointless manufacturing jobs, rebel and create a new society based on pleasure. (The film includes a Monty Python-esque scene in which a scientist mistakes a human for a robot, and proceeds to dismember him to prove it, all the while ignoring the screams of pain of his victim.)
