The Dark Side of the Moon (1990)

As the crew of a stranded spaceship are slowly possessed one by one, they realize that the dark side of the moon is linked to the Bermuda triangle, and is under the control of the Devil. (Oh, puhleeze..!) The ship's computer - Lesli - is an attractive female android, in the habit of wearing a psuedo-leather mini skirt.

D.A.R.Y.L. (1985)

Daryl (Data Analyzing Robot Youth Lifeform) lives with foster parents, but is found and taken home by his 'real parents', the two scientists who created him.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

Klaatu, an alien ambassador, visits Earth to warn mankind that they must live in peace or be destroyed by Gort, his robot guardian, and his like.

Deadly Friend (1986)

A boy with a robot called BB tries to save his friend's life after she is killed by her wicked father, by transplanting BB's brain into her body.

Deadspace (1991)

Commander Kreiger and his robot sidekick Tinpan try to save the planet Phaebon from a deadly virus.

Demon Seed/Proteus Generation (1977)

Susan Harris, the wife of a computer expert, is trapped in her estranged husband's automated house, which is controlled by the super computer Proteus. The computer uses one of its robots to abduct the woman, and implant her with its seed, and she gives birth to its child, which turns out to be identical to the baby which she and her husband had earlier lost..

Devil Girl from Mars (1954)

Nyah, a Martian, arrives on Earth with her robot Chani, demanding healthy men to take back to Mars for breeding. While en-route to London in Nyah's spaceship, an Earthman manages to blow up the ship, so killing himself and Nyah.

Digital Man (1995)

A crack squad is sent to a small community to track down an out of control robot. As they search, some of the squad suspect that some of their companions are also robots.

Dopey Dicks (1950)

The Three Stooges are detectives and have to rescue a girl from a mad scientist who has built a mechanical robot, and who needs a human head for it. The Stooges escape with the girl, but end up in a car being driven by the headless robot.

Dr Coppelius/El Fantastico Mundo del Doctor Coppelius/The Fantastic World of Doctor Coppelius (1966)

Doctor Coppelius creates a beautiful dancing girl robot, Coppelia. A young man in love with the robot is captured by Coppelius, who wants to transfer the man's 'spirit' into the robot in order to humanize it. The man's girlfriend, disguised as Coppelia, smuggles the man out of the scientist's lair, leaving the scientist and his creation heartbroken.

Dr Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine (1965)

Doctor Goldfoot creates a band of bikini-wearing female robots, who are to seduce the world's rich playboys and so create financial chaos. (The robots have a kiss button, a kill button and a mystery button !)

Dr Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs/Le Spie Vengono dal Semifreddo/I Due Mafiosi dell FBI (1966)

Doctor Goldfoot builds a band of sexy female robots - the 'girl bombs' - who are to assassinate NATO generals in order to cause war between the US and the USSR. (The girl bombs have fuses in their navels, so that they explode when anyone makes love to them... presumably, using the correct 'position' ?)

Dr. Satan's Robot (1966)

A film remake of The Mysterious Dr. Satan series, in which the hero - Copperhead - battles against the evil Dr. Satan and his robot, Gort.

Dr Smith's Automaton (1910)

Doctor Smith's son sneaks into his laboratory and activates the robot which his father has created. The robot goes on the rampage and is only stopped when it runs into a wall. (The robot is described as a "mechanical man... of buckram and... springs".)

The Doll Maker's Daughter (1906)

A dollmaker's daughter pretends to be the mechanical model of her which her father has created.

Downtime (1995)

A spin-off from the Doctor Who TV series. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart tries to foil a plot to take over the world by an alien called the Great Intelligence, aided by the robot Yetis.

Droid (1988)

A member of the Eliminators tries to track down a device which will disable the Reformers, renegade police droids which are in revolt.

Droid Gunner/Cyberzone (1995)

In a future world in which most of the west coast of the USA is under water, a bounty hunter is hired to track down a smuggler and retrieve the pleasure 'droids he's trying to bring onto Earth.
